This time last year I was busy preparing a New Year's Eve extravaganza for my set at Folk Marathon Ghent, to celebrate the dawn of a new glorious decade in which we move towards a renewable-energy based circular econonmy; a world where the people of all nations, ethnic & economic backgrounds, geneders and sexual orientations are valued and respected equally. Well, we got off to a bit of a false start - which is no surprise; a global pandemic was predicted by science and probablity.... and astrology! I don't believe in psuedo-science, but a friend who follows astrology told me, before the pandemic started went global, that astrologists were predicting that this year was significant (every year is significant to a great many people, but take it up with the astrologists).
Anyway, after a bit a false start we hope that things will pick up again soon and that this decade will turn out to be one of the best ones ever!!! Because, as I said already in different words, we will transition to a new way of doing things and find harmony with Earth's ecosystem once again (refer to CAT's website on a few ideas about how we can do this). Last year's concert was recorded and its coming out on all streaming platforms this New Year's Eve!!! You can presave it here if you're into that: https://ffm.to/newyear If lots of people presave then it will help give the album a little boost on the streaming platfrom algorithms, so please presave! I get to see your email address if you do that, so if you'd rather not share data, that's also fair enough. If you can't wait, you can hear it already, here (and there are about 25 limited edition physical copies floating around London, Belgium, Germany & Slovenia, and some more download code versions of that). Far from being the definitive version of these songs, this was more of a massive jam party band, recorded live last new year's eve with barely any rehearsal (we managed to squeeze in a few rehearsals on the day, but only with about one third of the band). I hope you'll interpret it as an artistic work representing the chaos of a hyped-complex civilisation built on outdated ideas that have begun falling apart... at first gradually, but now ever more rapidly, whist simultanously we try to repairing, reforming and building alternatives and arks. You can also see this as Worldwide Welshman's second demo-album, a flavour of what's to come, a moment on my journey as a musician and experimental global-pop-artist (you already heard that our latest release, See You After Quarantine, is probably our best yet), and a moment in the life of our loving pan-european folk music community.
