Symudais i Fachynlleth yn 2021 lle bues yn gyfarfod â sielydd hudolus, Ailsa Mair Fox, "the Fairytale Cellist". Yn syth, dechreuon ni i greu cerddoriaeth gyda'n gilydd. Dyma fersiwn ni o'r gân boblogaidd, "Cyfri'r geifr" a chafodd ei gasglu ym 1799 gan Dafydd Ddu Eryri (https://www.casgliadywerin.cymru/items/501697). Daeth y trefniant hwn allan o jam yn y gegin. Mae fersiwn ni yn y cywair lleiaf, ac yn tynnu ar elfennau o gerddoriaeth draddodiadol Mongolaidd/steppe Asiaidd sy'n cael ei chwarae gan fandiau fel "Anda Union" y daeth i Ddolgellau yn 2018.
Mae trefniant ni wedi bod yn boblogaidd gyda chynulleidfaoedd ar hyd a lled Dyffryn Dyfi.
Cafodd y trac ei recordio ar 12 o Ionawr 2023 gan Mike West yn Our Lady Studio, Borth, a chafodd y fideo ei ffilmio gan fy chwarae, Ciara Rickard, ar y 14 o Ionawr i fyny Penrallt ym Machynlleth.

I moved to Machynlleth in 2021. There I met a magical cellist, Ailsa Mair Fox, "The Fairytale Cellist" and we began making music together. This collaborative piece that came out of a jam session in my kitchen. It is a minor-key version of the popular Welsh folk song, "Cyfri'r Geifr" (Counting goats), which was first collected in 1799 by Dafydd Ddu Eryri (https://www.casgliadywerin.cymru/items/501697) and which Ailsa learnt in school. Here's the translation: http://welshnurseryrhymes.wales/Gartref?cerdd=15
Our arrangement is in the minor-key and draws on elements of Mongolian/Asian Steppe music, popularised by globe-trotting central-Asian bands such as Anda Union who came to Dolgellau in 2018. It's been a hit with audiences across the Dyfi Biosphere.
The track was recorded by Mike West in Our Lady Studio, Borth on the 12th of January 2023, and the video was filmed a few days later by my sister, Ciara Rickard.
