Mae "Tori Jaaun re Jaaun re" (tô-ri ja-wn re ja-wn re) yn cydweithrediad rhwng dau cerddor clasurol o Gogledd India, Aakriti Bhat (llais) a Maneesh Rawat (tabla) a fi (gitar, synths, cynhyrchiad), cerddor werin a pop o Gogledd Cymru. Cafodd ei recordio yn y haf o 2021, nhw yn Delhi a finnau yn stiwdio-catref fy ffrindau yn Llundain. Cafodd y trac ei lawnsio ar yr 2.2.22 yn Nghaffi Alys, Machynlleth. Trefniant newydd o dau cyfansoddiadau Indiaidd yn Raag Yaman ydi hon. Y bandish (cyfansoddiad) cyntaf yw "Tori Jaun re jaun re" sy'n dod o'r traddodiad Dilli Gharana (o'r rhanbarth Delhi). Mae're geiriau yn son am chariad a diolchgarwch i rhywun annwyl, unai i mentor, chariad neu ffrind da. Mae'r ail rhan yn "tarana" sydd wedi ei cyfansoddi gan Vidushi Kaushiki Chakraborty. "Tarana" yw techneg o byrfyfyr lleisiol yng ngherddoriaeth clasurol Indiaidd sy'n defnyddio sillafau ddi-ystir sy'n dod o Persian ac Arabaidd.

"Tori Jaaun re Jaaun re" is an international collaboration between North Indian Classical musicians, Aakriti Bhatt (voice) and Maneesh Rawat (tabla), and Welsh pan-global-alt-pop-artist, Worldwide Welshman a.k.a. Liam Rickard (guitar, synths, production). Its our own arrangement of two compositions in Raag Yaman, recorded in New Delhi and London in summer 2021.
The first bandish (composition), "Tori Jaaun re Jaaun re", from the Dilli Gharana tradition (from the Delhi area), is a song of love and gratitude for one's mentor, or romantic partner (its open to interpretation). The second part is a "tarana" which was composed by Vidushi Kaushiki Chakraborty. "Tarana" is a style of improvised singing in Indian classical music which uses nonsense sylables derived from Persian and Arabic (Mugal period).
The song was launched in Caffi Alys, Machynlleth on the 2/2/22. This song was featured in Fresh Favs on popular music blog, Fresh On The Net, and was played by DJ Ritu on Resonance FM, Georiga Ruth on Radio Cymru, Tom Robinson's BBC introducing mixtape on 6 Music, and Jon Read on Exile FM.

About the artists
Worldwide Welshman is Liam Rickard, a singer-songwriter, folk-singer and producer from North Wales, now based in Machynlleth. He's one-half of the indie-folk-pop duo, Lo-fi Jones.
Aakriti Bhatt is a North Indian Classical vocalist based in New Delhi.
Maneesh Rawat is a classical tabla player & all-round percussionist from Uttarakhand, North India.
How did this project come about?
We were invited to collaborate together by our mutual friend, Hindustani classical singer, Subodh Pandey, who I on Ethno Winter Estonia in February 2020. We discussed the arrangement over video chat and developed it by sending audio recordings back and fourth between Wales and India. We call the project "Indo-West Collaboratives" or "Indo-West Sahayogee", and it was funded by the Asia-Europe Foundation's Mobility First! grant scheme. I've never met Aakriti and Maneesh in person, only online!
