This summer, just after the lockdown eased and the borders opened, I snuck off to Slovenia for a secret summer mini-tour, where I joined the Etno Histeria World Orchestra, along with my specially created summer tour band - "Worldwide Welshman & The Floating Castles":- Cristobal, Jonas, Cedric, Lotte, Angelika, Gaja, Vilma and Sami. We got on Slovenian National TV! The next morning, we gave "Goldfish" is first radio airing, performing it live on Slovenian National Radio!! The WWW tour band were joined by Toby, Matija, and Ajda, the Etno Histeria Orchestra leaders (no clip of this, sorry). A few days later, the Histeria team organised a variety-show style concert for us in the local village. I was honoured to accompany my dear friends Vilma & Sami AND the phenomenal musical sensation that is CLAUDIA SCHWAB as a guest guitarist in their sets. All in a days work for Worldwide Welshman! (I felt like I was going up in the world :D) Video by Ajda Zupan: Click on READ MORE to see the rest.... In July I was in lockdown in North Wales with my parents. I was very lucky. I had planned to go to the Etno Histeria music camp this year and make a Worldwide Welshman Slovenian summer tour, but doubting if it would happen. After much uncertainty, the camp was, miraculously, going ahead, (but reduced in size with covid saftey measures in place). But the UK was on the red list for Slovenia! On the Wednesday they emailed me to say sorry, I could not attend this year. Then on Friday I had another email: "UK has been green zoned, come to Slovenia!". And so on the Monday I began my journey to Slovenia. The journey My dad's car wouldn't start and was parked in front of my mum's car, so we borrowed Meiron-drws-nesa's car, and missed my intended train. Caught up with it in Chester, but didn't realise in time, and missed it again. So I had to rebook my bus. New bus left London in the afternoon, was supposed to arrive at midnight, but we swapped drivers midway and the new driver didn't know where he was going, so we arrived in Brussels at 3am. I stayed at a freind's place and in the morning I got picked up by my bandmates and we drove down to Slovenia, stopping off in Barvaria to camp. We arrived on Wednesday evening in Mačji hrib (Cat's Hill) in Istria. Etno Histeria camp Here's the arrangement that me and my friend and bandmate Vilma Talvitie made! we learnt the song back in February in Estonia from Hannelore.
